Totoro and Chibi (paper clay sculpture)

Hello guiseee, how are you all doing? So recently I have been working on Totoro and Chibi's sculptures and it was pretty tough I tell you! For this project, I use paper clay that I bought from the bookstore. You can make the clay by yourself tho. It's easy. Few ingredients need to be mixed together and there you have it, your very own clay. But since I am a lazy kind of person, so I just bought it. And as you can see down below, those are the pictures of Totoro and Chibi that I made using paper clay.

It was hard to sculpt these two adorable creatures at first. It became a little bit too droopy and it looks hideous. But after a few tryouts, I somehow managed to get the perfect shape for these two (that's what I thought, at least). And the second hard part was to find the right colour of Totoro. For the darker part, I mix these three colours (black, white and a little bit of chocolate). Hence for the belly, I use flesh tint, yellow and white colour. This time, use acrylic paint so that you will get a nice shiny effect. So yeah...I think that's pretty much it. So what are you waiting for? Go and make one! :)

Paper Mache Sculpture

Well, hello there blog world. It has been nearly two months since I last updated my blog. I was really busy getting all the courseworks and presentations done and of course, adapting myself to this new whole environment in the university. I must say that I do have free time to do things that I like but I always prefer to stay in bed sleeping or maybe read some books that I can get online. But oh well.

Since I will be spending another three weeks at home for this one month semester break, I think I might need something to keep myself busy or I will be spending most of my time being a couch potato. I told myself that "hey, maybe I should start doing art". So this is where this whole paper mache idea came popping up in my head like popcorn. I googled up every single idea on how to make this paper mache thing. Speaking of which, has any of you remember 'Art Attack' where Neil Buchanan was the host for the show? Anyone? Because I would have not known about this paper mache thingy if it was not because of him :)

So here I want to present you my very first masterpiece using paper mache *drum rolls*. Japanese kimono doll. I know it is not perfect, but I am satisfied with my project :) oh and I also put some information on how to do this Japanese kimono doll. Hope you like it! xx

To make this doll, all you need is :

  • Some newspaper
  • Masking tape
  • Pva glue (any glue will do)
  • A little bit of water
  • Strips of kitchen towel
  • Acrylic paint (I use poster colour since I do not have any of acrylic paint on hand)

Method :
  • First you need to make two rounded balls and tape 'em together. One is for the head, another one is for the body.
  • For the hair : I make two small balls (hair buns) and attach 'em to the head.
  • As you can see in the picture, I also add some details to the kimono (optional).
  • Next you have to cover the doll with kitchen towel strips using some glue and a little bit of water (it should be mixed together). But do not make it too runny.
  • Let it dry completely.
  • Next step (the part that you've been waiting for), COLOUR!
  • To make it shiny, you can cover it with pva glue. But do not add water this time!
  • And there you have it, a masterpiece :)

The Beginning of a New Life

It has been a while since my last post..was it on May? or March? or...was it on February? I couldn't remember. My brain's nerve cells aren't working properly and I don't seem to get the idea why this is happening to me. But nevermind..it does not bother me that much. So...what do you guys want to know about my current life?

"Ahhh yes you, with the red shirt..tell me what do you eager to know.."
"Where are you studying now? And..what course are you taking? Is it hard?"

Well thank you for that question young man. Please be seated. UPSI. Yup, I am now studying in Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris which is located at Tanjung Malim, Perak. It takes 4 hour drive from my hometown to Perak which is kinda far but it does not matter as I like to travel around. Regarding my course, I am taking Diploma In English. Before we get any further, let me tell you a little bit about this course. Many people have mistaken Diploma In English (DIE) as Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL).

These courses are two different things. DIE is a course where basic English are taught to the students. In other words, students who take this course are exposed with plain old English where there is no theories on how to teach students and stuff. Unlike TESL. People who take TESL are compulsory to learn these theories. Do I make myself clear? :)

Alright then..enough about university and all. Let's move on to another topic shall we? Okay..here we go..I went home last Thursday for Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr with Maz and Ana by bus and we reached Kuantan around 8 p.m if I am not mistaken. I had sandwich while Maz had some bread for break fast. To be frank, it was my first time breaking fast in a bus and it was such an experience to me and..what the heck why am I talking about this.

So..on Friday, we had this small reunion where my ex classmates gathered for breaking our fast together. Some of my ex classmates came and some did not. We broke our fast at this one mamak stall where we had nasi beriyani. Well to be honest I do not really like the atmosphere on that day..it was so stiff. And..I was not being able to bid goodbye to you :(

Luckily Maz held this one small event to gather all of our friends at her house..right after I pick Dila at her house, we straight away went to Maz's. And there was Nasrul..holding a glass of orange juice in his hand and came to me and said "I have been waiting for you for ages. Go away, I am sulking!" haha poor Nasrul..but then, who told you to come that early? Serve you right lol ;p

Oh wait, did I mention about food? Hmmm *rubs tummy* Maz served so many food but I could not take down all of em' because I had nasi lemak earlier that morning :'( There were lontong, soto, roti jala, cakes, fruit cocktail and many more. Sounds amazingly delicious isn't it? Haha I can see you guys drooling, eew here, take this tissue ;p

Jokes aside, overall I had so much fun getting the chance to sit down and just talk about nonsense things with all of you guys. Having the chance to see you guys are like the best feeling in the world. I could not ask for more. I love you guys to the max. Oh sh** I am getting emotional, give back my tissue!

Good times, good times

Bonjour people! :) It's been a while now. So how you guys doing? First of all, let's go back to the day where I had an interview for my Tesl course, shall we? The reason I went to Shah Alam on 23nd April was because I got a text message saying "UITM : Semakan panggilan temuduga Program Asasi Tesl UiTM Sesi 2012/2013".

To be honest, I wasn't really excited to hear the news at first because right after I read the text message I got all these mixed feelings playing in my head. "What am I supposed to tell the interviewers?","What if they don't like me?","What if I mumble and get all nervous?". But thanks to my family, Kakya, Maz, Azfar and especially Allah, I managed to calm myself and I think I did pretty well on that day. Alhamdulillah. All I can do now is pray and hoping that I will be chosen to be one of the students there at UiTM.

Yesterday I went to the mall with ma homies, Maz and Dila. We started our day by watching a movie called The Avengers. I ...I just want to say that...I couldn't take my eyes off Chris Evans that plays the role as Captain America. What I like about him is because of his eyes, a pair of breathtaking green eyes. And not to forget his blonde hair. Ahhhhh perfecto! hehe :3 alright alright. Enough of him.

Well, there's nothing special on our day out, as usual, it's just an ordinary day...but we had fun though. We searched for places to eat end up eating at the same place over and over again (Noodle Station), we watched movies, bought things for ourselves, chatted for hours and laughed like nobody's business hehe. And annoyed each other too :P I just can't get enough of you guys. Love you :)

Okay, stick a fork in me, I'm done.
Till next time.
Adios.

5sc6's (2011)

Never thought that we could be this close. Two years...we had been together for two years. All the laughter, all the fights, all the crying and all the yelling brought us together as a family. Fate has brought us together. No words can explain how grateful I am to be with you guys :)

We are one small family with big hearts.

Meowwww~

Actually I am not a huge fan of flat-faced cats but I am now hehehehe :3

Aww look at that face. Isn't she adorable <3

Can't get enough of you guys :)

Maz, Azfar and Wafi came out with a plan on doing another class reunion since the one we had before wasn't going so well. So for our upcoming class reunion, they're planning to do BBQ at Taman Gelora instead of Teluk Chempedak..which is fine to me eventhough I rarely go to Taman Gelora. I remember the last time I went there...um...it was two years ago I think (nama je duduk Kuantan tapi tak pergi pun)..haha. Anyway..the reunion will be held on 7th April from 11a.m until 5p.m..here's the event page that Wafi made..

I just can't wait to meet you guys :) and......I have no idea what to write right now because it's almost 2a.m and I am sleepy as hell. Goodnight everybody. Lots of love zzzzzzz
